The Clash's London Calling: still golden. Seamless mesh of punk, pop, soul, reggae, ska, and rock'n'roll. It has cut through the decades, getting better and better with age. Well, I hope that you'll take this double LP as a token of my good intentions in making up for missing last week's post. No excuses here, just didn't get to it. Soak in all four sides and think about how poignant these tracks are; lyrics about nuclear energy, and unemployment, and racial tensions, and war, and drugs, and responsibility. Shit is pretty serious here, but oh, so tasty. Hot licks and killer hooks. A beacon for all.
