The C in Cake

Perfect mellow, grey for the drizzle day, this Sunday. Thank you Mr. O'Rourke, thank you Mr. Grubbs. From the mindless meanderings of the noodle string to the dry cut of the endless riffing. I am so ready for Autumn. Bring it on.

All Tech

That's right, one record at a time. Guess I am working out all of the things that I thought I couldn't remember but, I totally do, yet still need to listen to over, and over, and over, and over again.

Honestly if there were only Sundays left for the rest of our lives I would be okay with starting off with the record, every time, like Groundhog Day, of a post-hardcore variety.

If you don't know this record then, shame on you. Go immediately to your wherever music procuring local and fix that.

empathy for the rad industry

Keeping the 90's alive, one record at a time. Los Cincos bringing the RAD, LA style. Rocking dubalicious. Loved it then, love it more now. So nice, I listened to it twice.

Killer split with GoGoGo Airheart. Bookending the South Land.

Connect the Brain to the Astro Plain

So perfect in its slacker, whatever feeling. Pretty much reliving the nineties with this one. Just saw the Archers of Loaf at Great American Music Hall last Friday. So great to see some old dudes killing it, from one old dude who's still feeling it in the neck three days later. They took me there. So many gems off of this album were performed flawlessly. They still got it. So many gems left untouched, maybe they played them the second night? I haven't looked into that yet. What they did play were all 5 tracks from vs. The Greatest Of All Time. But, that is a different album for a different Sunday...

Until then,
b.

spending time under the giant sequoias with old friends

Hangin' with the Elk in the prairie is my only excuse for no post last weekend. Chillin with old friends under the old growth is what I was up to. The only music was the crack of the fire. Well, that and the douche bags that were in the camp next to us. Still, it was pretty freakin' rad. Stay tuned for more blah on the blahg...

Still jammin econo, man!

Mike Watt's latest, "hyphenated-man" made the day oh so right, man. I was lucky enough to catch this tour when it came through town. Still jammin econo, man! Still touring econoline, as if that would ever change. I saw show # 49 on a 50 show tour that happened in 52 days. Seriously fucking bad ass, man.

30 bits to the cut on this punk rock opera. All gems. Harkins back to the days of the Minute Men. And loving every similarity. On yellow vinyl ta-boot. Pettibon art on the cover. Sweet!

Terror Twilight

Being an exceptionally busy Sunday, what should have been my morning record became my Sunday evening drive into the city record. I do confess that these tracks were enjoyed from the sounds of the hi-fi in my wife's responsible Honda Accord. However, I want to let it be known that Alice and I each had a copy of this record coming into our relationship together, so we have two copies of this beautifully produced record. I think that that more than makes up for it, no? Sounds so sweet. The sweetness of lying around, late at night, all dewy in summer sweat. That is a different story. Until next time...
